I learned that you can covert mixed numbers to improper fractions easily when I watched the Brain Pop. I didn't know there was a shortcut because I always thought it was so hard. I also learned how to find mixed numbers and improper fractions from models from watching SpyGuys. I didn't know it ws so easy!
I learned that the denominator in a mixed number is the same as the denominator in a regular fraction.It tells the number of pieces the model was split up into. And the numerator is the same to. It tells how many all together. Even though it is more than a whole. You can also wright it as a whole number. I think thats kind of cool because you can wright it both ways. I can'y wait to learn more about it! i might actually be good at it! lol

I learned that you can switch mixed numbers and improper fractions. I watched the SpyGuys and it taught me a lesson on improper fractions, and mixed numbers. I thought it looked hard but it was realy, realy easy.
I learned a some things about math from the two videos we wached, and they are that to make an improper fraction, you mostly star out with more than a whole number. I pretty much knew all of the other things, except that you can change improper fractions into proper fractions. ~*Caelyn*~

I learned that you can simplify a mixed number into an improper fraction. Improper fractions are actually mixed numbers. In order to simplify a fraction you have to multiply the whole number by the denominater, and then add the numerater and then move the denominater to the other fraction.It's fun and easy

i learned that you can convert mixed numbers to improper fractions according to the Brain Pop.What you do is you times the whole number 3 by the numerator 3 and then you would get 9, and then you would see what the denominator is and lets say it is 15, so the answer would be 9/15th!!
Once you get the hang of the process it can be REALLY easy, all you have to do is pay attention!
I learned how to convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and how to convert improper fractions into mixed numbers from the two videos. The videos helped me remember how to do them, because my mom helped me know how to do this before.
I learned about how to do a short cut on improper fractions and mixed numbers. I dont think its too hard. That Spy guys guy is very very very very very weird. I like pizza too! Mixed and improper is kind of fun.

You can use a shortcut to find out how to change the mixed number into a improper fraction. You would multiple the whole number by the denominator and then add the numerator to your answer to get the numerator of the improper fraction. Then you would put the same denominator of your mixed number into your improper fracton. P.S. I loved the mans voice in the spyguy video! It was FUNNY!
I learned that it is really easy to change mixed numbers into improper fractions when you use the shortcut. The shortcut is simple and easy for me to remember.

I never knew that by multiplying a mixed number's whole number by the fraction's denomerator and then adding the numerator could give you an improper fraction. I enjoy learning about fractions, and this makes having fun with fractions so much easier.
In the SpyGuys video, I enjoyed doing the activities, because they were a way to understand the whole improper fraction, mixed number thing.
Also, the Brain Pop video has an interesting way of explaining things. I like the fast pace, but it's not hard to understand what point they're trying to get across, because you are at perfect liberty to pause the video whenever you want.
I hope to be able to do these assignments again soon, because it's nice to not have this as homework, and it's nice to get out of the pressure of the classroom!

pretty easy, i liked the pizza part on the spy guys. however, moby drinking the oil was kinda awkward. i like class in the computer lab, really quiet. sorry about the no capitals, and probably spelling errors too lol. this is a good way to begin liking fractions, though it doesn't change anything yet!!! i do feel kinda bad for chance though....nah. he will be fine. well that's about all i got to say, (i'm begginning to type nonsense). cya!

I didn't know it could be as simple as multipling the whole number by the denominator and adding the numerator.I also learned that an improper fration's denominator is the same as amixed number's denominator. The proplems on Spyguys really helped too!

Today I learnd that you can convert mixed number into improper fractions. The Spy-Guy helped me learn alot about mixed numbers and improper fractions. At first when i was told we were doin mproper fractions and mixed numbers i thouht oh boy i'm not going to do very well! but i wasn't that bad accullay!
I learned that turning mixed numbers into improper fractions, and turning improper fractions into mixed numbers wasn't too hard to understand. The two videos I watched helped me understand the shortcut better. Converting fractions now seems really fun!!!!!!!

I think I learned alot more from the the spyguys than the brainpop because the brainpop was really confuseing . But I really liked the shortcut they used !! I didn't know that if you thought of fractions like pizza or somethig it could be alot more fun & easy !!!
I learned that improper fractions and mixed numbers are easy to do. I think there only easy if you have a model. I also liked the shortcut now its actually easy!
I kind of remembered alittle about this last year, so this refreashed my memory. I did find that some of the questions in the pop quiz section of the brain pop were confusing, so im hoping that you will clear that up when we talk about it in class!:)

I learned that mixed numbers and improper fractions are easy. I thought it would be really hard, but it wasn't. I would do it again if I could. I think i know how to switch .he denominator is going to be the easiest tho because we kinda learned how to switch it to a least common denominator and then we learned how to do the numinator yo and its just going to be hard to put it all together.
