Microsoft Word Editing Quiz

You will follow the directions and make a new word document.  Click the _ in the top right corner to minimize Internet Explorer.  This will keep the directions open so that you can refer back to them as you work.  Open Microsoft Word to a new, blank document and follow the directions below...

Write your full name.  Highlight it name and use the button to align your name to the right.  Change the font of your name to "Bradley Hand" and make it bold and underlined.  Change the size of the font to 16.  Press enter two times so that you will skip a line before the next paragraph.

**Take a moment to save your document.  Click "file", "save", change "My documents" at the top to say your name.  Then change "file name" at the bottom to say Editing Practice.


Indent the paragraph.  Be sure that bold and underline are turned off for this paragraph.  Change the font size back to 12 and to font style "Arial".  Write about yourself in this paragraph.  Don't forget to use two spaces after each period.  Press enter two times to start a new paragraph.


Indent the paragraph.  Change the font size to 14 and the font style to "Comic Sans".  Write about what you thought sixth grade was going to be link AND what you think of it now.  Tell about something fun/exciting/interesting you have done or learned in school this year.  Press enter two times to make a new paragraph.


**Take a moment to save your document!


Indent the paragraph. Write about something funny that has happened to you in the past.  Italicize the paragraph and change it the font color to green.   Press enter two times to make a new paragraph.


Write a list of 8 of your favorite things.  Press ENTER after each thing so that they are all on their own line.  Figure out how to make the list have bullets (those dots at the beginning of each line that you see Mrs. Bronkema use in her Powerpoint). 



Finally, insert a picture or WordArt at the bottom of your page.



**Take a moment to save your document!

Go back and check all of your spelling and grammar.  Check that all sentences start with a capital letter and end with a period.  Make sure that your paragraphs make sense.  Add one more detail to each paragraph.
 
**Extra credit:
1) Figure out how to change one of the paragraphs to have two columns. 
2) Change the margins of the paper to be 0.5 on each side, top, and bottom.
3) Insert a table with two columns and 8 rows.  Use the first column for each hour of the school day and the second for your class schedule.
4) Insert a graph of anything you choose.
